Christopher Barber

Christopher J. Barber is an estate planning attorney with more than 20 years of experience in wealth preservation, probate, and Medicaid planning. He launched his solo practice in Southeast Houston right after passing the bar, with early referrals coming from financial planners through his father. His work has centered on helping families protect assets and plan for long term care since the mid 1990s.

A Houston native, Chris studied at San Jacinto College and later earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Texas State University, where he held leadership roles and received academic honors. He went on to earn his law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law and interned with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Outside his legal career, he has a background in law enforcement, is a licensed pilot since 1983, and built and flies his own aircraft.

Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll learn:

  • Discover the common misconception that having a will means avoiding probate, and why this could lead to unexpected complications.
