Dr Jerome Cha

Dr. Jerome Cha, who has been practicing clinical dentistry in Oklahoma for over 30 years, and he is the only Accredited Cosmetic Dentist in the state by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He has been practicing for the last 10 years, focusing solely on 'dental facial volume compensation' and TMD treatments. The smile makeover not only addresses TMJ-related disorders but also volumizes the aging face to reverse the signs of aging. Dr. Cha has lectured internationally, published several articles in dental cosmetic journals, and is a clinical educator at his dental teaching institute, Dental QS.

Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll learn:

  • Discover how the size and position of your teeth and jaw can influence facial support, balance, and the way your face appears as you age.
  • Uncover how changes in skeletal support can affect the soft tissues of the face and contribute to wrinkles and other visible signs of aging.
  • Find out how Dr. Jerome Cha uses dental facial volume compensation to support facial structure while addressing the function of the teeth and jaw.
  • Explore why some patients with TMD symptoms may need the underlying relationship between their upper and lower jaws evaluated before cosmetic dental work.
  • Get a clearer understanding of how Dr. Cha uses a temporary trial smile to let patients experience potential aesthetic and functional changes before final treatment.
  • Understand why additive porcelain techniques can allow dentists to change tooth dimensions while minimizing the amount of natural tooth structure removed.
  • Hear how one patient experienced noticeable changes in facial symmetry after Dr. Cha addressed an imbalance in her jaw structure.
  • Gain insight into why Dr. Cha views mouth guards and Botox as temporary approaches for certain jaw pain patients rather than permanent solutions.
  • Learn what Dr. Cha believes patients should look for when choosing a cosmetic dentist, from accreditation and experience to authentic before and after results.

In this episode…

Could your smile be changing the way your entire face ages without you realizing it? Most people think cosmetic dentistry begins and ends with creating attractive teeth, but Dr. Jerome Cha explains why jaw position, skeletal support, muscle function, and tooth dimensions can all influence facial appearance. Could addressing the foundation change both how your smile functions and how your face looks?

Dr. Cha explains his approach to dental facial volume compensation, sometimes called a dental facelift, and how adding dimension to the teeth can support the lower face without relying solely on traditional aesthetic treatments. He also shares the case of a young patient who developed jaw pain and chipped teeth after previous extractions and orthodontic treatment, plus an example of a patient whose facial symmetry changed immediately after her jaw imbalance was addressed.

In this episode of Beauty Talk, host Daniel Gouw interviews Dr. Jerome Cha, an AACD accredited cosmetic dentist at J Cha Cosmetic Dental in Edmond, Oklahoma. Dr. Cha has practiced dentistry for more than 30 years and is the only AACD accredited cosmetic dentist in Oklahoma. They discuss facial aging, dental facial volume compensation, TMD, jaw alignment, minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry, Botox and mouth guards for jaw pain, and what patients should consider when choosing a cosmetic dentist. Tune in to learn how to make informed choices about your health, beauty, and well-being.
